ok well this is my first year in drumline im top bass. I can get my music down and memorize it pretty well and drill isnt that hard for me. But being top bass i have to watch the other 4 basses. Well they seem to dont care at all about it, think its just a blow off class i guess. And i try and get them to play the right part go to their right spots but they dont listen. Ive talked ot my director and shes talked to them but they just dont care...
if u have any ideas of what i can do to get these guys to actaully work...TELL ME

electric shock aversion? i have a similar problem, sometimes it seems like im dealing with a bunch of retards...i think that if you really want them to work, let them know whats at stake, and if they keep screwing up, make them run laps...thats what works for me.

Or perhaps they just don't have the same desire you do? Maybe it's just that simple. Showing them videos might make them say "Yeah... more stuff we can't do" and will just discourage them.
Remember, when dealing with HS kids - it's not about the utopian answer, it's about the realistic one.
