We have a wonderful feature here at Drumlines.org called, "Notify Moderator" AKA "Report Post." Everyone here has read about it in
Section 12 Paragraph 4 of the rules, but not many people choose to use it. A lot of times, either members ignore posts/threads that need moderating or members feel it is up to them to post a reply shaking their finger at the rule-breaking poster, which is against the rules. Even worse, sometimes members encourage unruly behavior by contributing to the offense like providing unranked users with links to sheet music, for example. This really gets our (the staff's) goat. We work hard to make Drumlines.org a
venue for discussion, information exchange, technical advice, etc., related to marching percussion, in a casual and fun atmosphere that fosters friendships among its membership. So if you see a post that breaks the rules, please, for the love of Monkey Man, use the "Notify Moderator" feature. As explained in said rules, it is best to leave the moderating up to moderators, and this is truly the best way you can help keep Drumlines.org a great place to "hang out" with your fellow marching percussionists. Your reports will be anonymous (to the member being reported) and as a side benefit, you will look that much better in the eyes of the staff, thus making your own promotions that much easier when the time comes to vote.
This has been a Drumlines.org Production. No monkeys were harmed in the typing of this post. (However, several Doritos and ounces of Mt. Dew were sacrificed to my belly.)
