Not here, but one of my friends wanted to play snare and did for 2 years and then this year he is playing tenors and he doesn't want to. So it's kind of reversed.

I actually had it the other way around. My 8th grade year I played tenors, but I had originally wanted to play snare. I tryed out for snare in high school but I had to go on tenors because the other two were going to be seniors and there wasn't anyone else who knew how to play quints. It was a good thing though. But just for the record I love snare as well and I'm going to audition for snare in Drum Corps.

I might end up having to switch to snare my senior year because our snare line is going to be graduating the year before.

I've had it the other way around. I played snare on my freshman year, and this year (sophomore year) I'm gonna play tenors. I'm also gonna be drum captain. lol. I didn't really want to play tenors at first, because snare was just my thing, lol. But after watching some DCI vids and such, I got to liking tenors.

I started out playing Snare. In fact, my Freshman year (I had quit band for two years prior), I auditioned for Snare and didn't make it. This year, I found out the Snareline was already filled, so I had no choice but to either go Tenors or Bass. I was intimidated by both, moreso by Bass. So, I decided to go for Tenors, since they were also one of my favorites . . . And I got it. Now I own.

I started off in the nineth grade playing flute, then in the tenth grade I was in pit, and now I am in the eleventh and I tried out for tenors, not thinking I was gonna make it, but I worked really hard, and now I am playing tenors for the Tift County Blue Devil Drumline.

I started in pit, wanted to play Tenors, and got stuck with Tenors AND 3rd Bass. How's that?

How is that? How can you play tenors and 3rd bass, unless you dont march a battery and everything's in the pit? However, an on-field switch might be pretty cool if you did it right...hmmm...

My freshman year we had a small band (it was the second year the school was open) we had a small drumline

First movement we had five snares, then
Second movement they switched to tenors and the bass(four of em) went on the feild
Third was a ballad, no battery
then fourth movement we had two tenors and three snares with the basses

Well I was in pit that year, played timpani
Last year and this year I play tenors
We have had a full drumline the past few years, its cool

Cool that's very creative. What did the judges say about it?
