We are just starting our summer marching band program and we will be marching 26 this year so our section is pretty big. We are having three days of percussion basic training and during those three days we will be work on cadences, features, and some games/activities to make us a stronger section. A big thing I want to stress this year is pride in the section so I have been racking my brain trying to figure out some cool things to do to promote pride. One idea that I came up with was taking our old bass drum heads and having the kids put their handprints on them. Like, dip their hands in paint and them put then on there with the saying "These hands are lethal weapons" or something like that with their names under their own print and then hang it in our drum room. Does that sound really corny or stupid to anyone? These will be high school kids so I'm sure I will get one or two that will be like "Oh that's stupid!" But I just wanted some other thoughts on it or any other ideas. Thanks!

Thats a good idea but instead of doing hand prings get liek a marker and write your names on the head then say something like, "You now hold a place in our drumlines history"

Make sure everyone else wants to have that pride.
