During a home game during my junior year in high school (we did a Lord of the Rings show and I was the only person playing tenors...very small line that year), there was a part in the ballad section of the show where the battery would come up to the front sideline and squat down behind the pit and "hide" from the audience. Most of us took our drums of the J-bars during that time, and at this one particular game, when I went to put my drums back on the J-bar slipped out of the chest piece. I figured the j-bar might slip again while we were marching so I decided to take of the drums and ended up marching the rest of the show with my "one-j-barred-chest-piece" and a pair of tenor mallets. That was an interesting night...

so far none of thats happened to our tenors, but at a game one time last year, we were in the stands getting ready to play a song with the band, our snare players had their snares sitting to the side off the harness, well when one of the snare players went to go put his drum on it slipped off the hook and rolled down like 5 levels of concrete stands. He got a nice little yellin at by our band director
