What, no Mapex lovers yet??? Despite everybody knocking them for "stealing" ideas, they took the good parts of the top brands and put it all into one drum. They don't sound bad either. From what I've seen and heard, I have high hopes for them. Although, as a disclaimer, I have to say I have yet to hear tenors or basses in person.

Overall I just love Pearls. They always seem to be of good quality and have that rich, focused sound. Yamahas are not bad either and I would put them in second.
