I highly suggest lifting the whole foot. Not only do I think it looks better when done properly, but you get a better feel of the tempo. And it gives more intensity, and you can never have too much controlled intensity.

our line lifts the whole foot 1 inch above ground and the band usually just does heels but i think it helps you keep time better and helps you not be lazy when you start to march since you cant just lift your heels in a show

At TAMUK we lift the whole foot with feet at a 45. When I marched corps, we marked time with the heel, feet at a 45.

I like the whole fott because you get a better feel of the beat than just your heel.

Besides, I think tit looks cooler.

whole foot is a lot better, in my opinion. marking time with your heel while carrying a drum... doesn't really work...

Well last year our band director had us do whole foot, now this year with a new band director we are doing heel, I think whole foot is better.
