I have always been decent at getting a nice crisp sound of the the marching snares in all walks of marching perc but I was curious if anyone out there had a "HOW-TO" or write-up on tuning marching snares for indoor specifically and/or outdoor? I know all the basics of tension on the top and bottom heads. I am more concerned with what kinda of bottom head to use and more importantly what to do with the individual snare strings and how tight to make them. I marched indoor with the coats line a few years back and we never really had to tune anything but I noticed the tape and patches on the bottom head. I didnt ask questions and just went with it. But I was curious how you guys tune your bottom heads. Any and all comments would be appreciated! Thanks all,
