So the program I'm working with has finally gotten some new equipment... an Adams Xylo and an Adams 4.3 octave synthetic marimba, both on field frames. I just wanted to know what you guys may have come across as being extremely helpful in mounting on the auxillary rack bar. We haven't bought any square clamps for the frames yet, but I just wanted to get an idea of what's helpful and what may be unecessary. So, I ask you pit people this... What have you mounted on your field frames and what would you like to have on it?

Unless the Adams frames are weaker than the Yamahas, I don;t think the crotales will do any damage. The Cavailers usually have at least one set of crotales mounted on a marimba, as well as a full set of concert bells which are pretty damn heavy as well. Crotales: Bells: (on the right hand marimba)

Hmm, well it is worth a try then. I have never used the Yamaha frame but looks to mee like it is a once piece bar to mounth the equipment on. The adams fram is a hinged piece designed, I guess, to make it easier to ship/pack. I'll test it out and see what happens, thanks for the pics.

I'm definitely looking into that.
I think I've decided on what to go with...
on the xylo will be a trap table, bells (hopefully) and a cymbal(maybe two using a tube clamp)
on the marimba will be two cymbals (effect & sus.) and a trap table.
that's ideal atleast. I'd love to be able to put crotales on the list...as beautiful as I think they sound, they're quite pricey and we dont own a set.

For the bells, the top half of a snare stand would probably work. Enjoy the new equipment. The Adams are great keyboards!!
