One of our cymbal players is "special..." as well as his girlfriend. Well, his girlfriend (who is on the snare line) broke up with him before the game last night, and he was angry all night. Not just bitter angry, but raging angry.

Well, needless to say, he crashed his cymbals today in a wrong way, and the suction got them stuck together. He pulled really hard, and got them apart, but one of the cymbals inverted.

We got it fixed, but should we be worried about the rigidity of the cymbal? He was using 18" Zildjian Avedis Stadiums.

Anytime a cymbal, or any type of metal, suffers a severe bend it degrades the strength. Think about a paper clip; if you bend it back and forth multiple times it breaks. It breaks because the metal weakens. The cymbal can be used after an invert. I wouldn't say make a mad rush to the music store to buy a new one, but be prepared to replace it.
