Here are the steps:
Step 1: Start in traditional grip
Step 2: Use your ring and middle finger to swing your stick butt towards you. Use your thumb to hold the stick against your palm, and pull your fingers into the matched position.
Step 3: Matched position. If you want to, you continue your backsticking by doing the matched 3-way backsticking method, then whenever you stop doing it, make sure you stop when your stick is in traditional. *Fifth step of matched 3-way* (This is easier, since you don't have to worry about step 2 and your fingers getting in the way.) If not, continue with these steps.
Step 4: Use your thumb and pointer finger to swing the stick up into traditional grip, butt on head.
((It starts to repeat itself, except your stick is inverted...butt first instead of bead.))
Step 5: Use your ring and middle finger to swing your stick bead towards you.
Step 6: You will be in matched grip, butt on head. Use the rebound of the hit to pop your stick into traditional grip.
Step 7: Returned to traditional grip.
Hope this makes sense!
