We have a pair of concert cymbals that our Sophomore cymbal player marches with, since we lack the proper supplies to give all seven of our cymbals marching cymbals, and he crashes so hard that they tend to get inverted at least once per day.
I've kind of had a reputation with the cymbal grips untying on me, not necessarily breaking cymbals, but, something similar to what happened to GothicDrummer119.
It was one of our first shows infront of an audience, at the fair, and it came to the playing of the National Anthem. I wasn't playing the pair I usually do, since I was lazy and one of the smaller-pair (14'') players wasn't there, so instead of using my 18'' ones, I used the smaller ones. I went to do one of the crashes, and as soon as I moved my arms, the cymbal fell because the grip untied. I was pretty embarressed, but, atleast the crash wasn't out of place.

one time when I was marching at a half time show I was crashing and I had to do a triple forte and I had to do like a little solo/visual and I crashed and my cymbal just inverted and then right after that my cymbal strap broke I was so embarrassed

Our high school band has always been fortunate to supply a new shiny pair of zildjans every time we get a crack. I have broken 4 pairs. Its easy to break pairs when you are a cymbal line marching independently. We dont hold for snares and our cymbal line has our own uniforms because of all the running and flipping around we do. I think whats funnier than cracked a cymbal.. is inverting them. And worse than any of those, is clipping your chin and having to go have your cut checked out lol
