Yea i guess it is cool to break some cymbals but only if u do it while u r playing! Last year at our HS someone thought it would be funny to drill a whole in one of the cymbals!!??!! With out saying the whole was drilled but the cymbal cracked all the way to the edge of the cymbal! So, yea it is kinda stupid but kinda funny!

Once this winter drumline had their 2 cymbal players do a cartwheel, and one of the plates got inverted. I never understood why they would have a visual like that. I would assume it would invert a lot, and can't be good for the cymbal.

at my school we actually traditionally march a stick section in our cymbal line. 4 of 12 players carry a single nylon tip hardamin or delusha and will play rhythmic patterns that fit right in all the music. In the rock show against ohio state we were playing black dog/kashmire (don't think i spelled it right) and there was a hugh "rock out" at the end. needless to say, i didn't know i could break a 18in Sabian AA with a hardamin but it happens i guess. thats also one of the reasons the other 8 players march hand hammered-s and the sticks dont... for some odd reason i felt proud but breaking cymbals is never a good thing. ha i am nearly in tears when i see one inverted...
