There are many visuals you can do on tenors. One of the more popular visuals is the doing the wave with the drums. YOu can do some stick flips and stick tosses. If you have a stick click in the show, instead of clicking the stick hit your harness instead. You can play some sweep patterns liek figure eights which are look pretty nice visually. I know this one visual, it might be hard to do when moving but it can be done. You flip one stick around your hand from the set/rest position and catch the stick with the other stick thats still in your hand. It is hard to explain...im me and i'll send you a picture of it.

Using one stick press down on the fulcrum where the joint is on your index finger. (this is hard to explain) But the on sticked roll is on two differnt drums. Use Rhythm X 2004 videos for a reference or Tim Jacksons tenor solo.

put your right hand over rim one and three holding the stick int he middle and do the same with the left over 2 and 4 and then do a roll using all 4 drums. kinda the same idea as flamdrag said but this one is more of a chops thing opposed to a rebound thing. Also if you can get it right you can bounce your sticks off your heads and catch them in the air (BD2003 tenorline). Tassadars triis pretty pimp too if you guys can lay that visual down you will definatly get all the women its worked for me.

Dude, visuals is anything fun. This past year, me and my other tenor buddy had the best visual ever. And I'm thinking abuot doing them all again this year, because I love them that much! And I busted them all out i the drum solo (OHYEAH!!!!)

First we started out, marched a few steps there, a few steps here, and so on and so on. We didn't play too much i the beginning. So the first visual was the wave. But we added our own twist on it. I started it, then he brung it back to me, then i did back to him, and he did it to me again. It looked like an ocean in a storm. It was hilarious watching us on video when we do it. Then, after a few more steps, we take our sticks, put them infront of our faces, make an X with them, rotate one stick over the other, catched it, then bring it back down. Not too flashy, but impressive. Then, we marched to the very front where everyone can see us. We stop playing, spread our legs, take both sticks and bring them together and hold them at our crotch, then we held our heads back, and jerked off our stick for about 2 measures. People would be looking at us with their jaws dropped open. Noone could believe we actually did it. But it's true.

(I don't recommend doing our last visual unless you feel like running alot a lot of laps with your drums, doing push-ups, and staying after to clean drums. But who cares, it is so worth it. Especially when the on-field drum judge is standing 8 feet away from you. lol.)

So those were our visuals. And I have a few more explicit ones up my sleeve I'm going to use every year. But all you have to do is make up something that is fun, funny. or just cool to look at. It's not hard. Just sit down and think to yourself for about it for abuot 5 mintues. I'm sure you'll come up with something. BEAT ON!!!!!!!!

These are at your own risk
You can do the T.I.T visula if yo ahve a 3 man tenor line or the T.I.T.T.Y visual with a 5 man line.

The abortion...

The coke Line visual. Put one stick flat like a line of coke then use the other stick as the tube.

ive seen this one before its more funny than offensive. You point down the to the lst person using your sticks to make a simple Arrow > > > > you do it in order one after another when it gets to the last person They hold both there mallets in the hand next to the person next to them and the hand on the end they lick there hand and smack the air.

Now not so offensive.
Learn a section that looks impressive all on one hand.

Play a portion on the front line bent over so they can see your drums from the top.

Tenor feature on stands on the sideline

Anything you can do one person after another. like spins or flips.

Carry an extra pair of mallets play a really beefed up section then toss your mallets and take a bow.

the university of iowa did the coke line visual last year... started w/ a right hand stick flourish then the 'snorted the crack' off their left hand stick, then took both stick and wiped off their noses with them. and played after that.
we did the heroin visual last year. -- both sticks in one hand, other arm is out kind of, give it a couple taps, then rotate one of the sticks 90 degrees and slide it down the other stick like ur injecting a shot. thats one of my favs.
btw- we did the throwing your mallets thing following our tenor feature at a competition.... we got deducted points lol.
and already incorporated into this years show... after our tenor feature we 'brush our shoulder off.' - a la was it 1994 or so cavies? - its pretty phat.
