First of all, Search First, Ask Second. This has been brought up before. Also check the product review section to see what people think of the stuff.

That being said, my line uses XL Lites. Not bad, except the only new one is the one on our quints. I would recommend their vest over the T-bars.

The Dynasty carriers fell really flimsy for quads. We have those.

We use the neww tubes from Pearl...it s the most comfortable/ cusomizable carrier there is. only prblem is that the tube make the fron of your uniform look kinda funky, if you dont have them flat.

Which Dynasty carriers do you all use? Are you using the brand new carriers, or are you using the old vest carriers?

The line i teach uses all XL and I must say they are very good carriers. They can take the abuse and still hold up well. I have read and heard many good things about the tube carriers but have not worked with them one on one.

My high school line used t-bars when I started and then changed to vests when we got new drums. I prefered the vest but would be ok with either. I liked the openness of the t-bar. I liked the look and the backbar of the vests.

I haven't tried the new tube carriers, but they look real comfortable and light.

We have two sets of drums. 10 year old Pearls and 4 year old Premiers. When our snare tech went to tune our snares, he just about pissed his pants. The drums were in horrible condition, despite our efforts at protecting them.

Long story short, we've got Premier harnesses on Pearl drums.

I really want to try the Pearl MagVest. Now THAT looks comfortable.

We use Dynasty A-Barsand they are pretty cumfortable. Theyre light weight just like a T-Bar and fit and kind of feel like a vest. They are hard to make them fit you if you are big and stocky. I have a hard time fitting them on me because of my stockyness but thats pretty much the same with just about any carriers.

We use XL. They are very comfortable and because the shoulders are metal you can bend them slightly to fit your shoulders. Also, they are as bulky as other vest carriers.

Our high school uses Pearl mag-lite carriers. We just got them the day before Christmas break. They feel awesome but are a pain in the butt to assemble and make it comfortable. Maybe i was just doing it wrong. But overall they are awesome.

Our tenorline uses Field-Corps Alumi-Vest carriers. The problem is, we have 2 of them, and 3 sets of quints. I've looked around, but I can't find them online. Where could I order one online?

well, the tenors use the new Pearl Mag-Vests as do the basses. And they are really comfy. The snares use old Remo vest carriers and they say they aren't bad.

The upperclassmen drumline (soph, jun., sen.) use Dynasty vest carries on Dynasty drums. I find these very comfortable, the vest seems to add extra support to the drum, and the back bar right across the shoulder blades makes it very nice to have on for a long parade or for a field show night.
[EDIT]
Forgot to add that the freshman use years old XL carriers on their yamahas, I find these the most uncomfortable carriers like ever.

We have Mag Vests for Snares and Mag Tube for Tenors and bass. Having marched both, I like the Vest better. It fits me perfectly, and ist just more sturdy. However, it is VERY unadjustable, and anyone who is not at the perfect height will have problems.

The new Pearl Tubes are the best carriers out there... You can adjust them in just about any way imaginable.

That's actually not a good thing. It takes too long to get them adjusted properly, and then they don't stay like that. Trust me, I've been marching them the past 4 years.

My line has the old Yamaha T-Bar carriers. Yamaha has since replaced this line of carriers with the tubular ones. Ours are falling apart and never seem to want to stay together. We are starting a fundraising drive after christmas. I haven't decided which carriers I would like. The Yamaha Vest carriers, or their new carbon fiber carriers. Any input on the new Carbon fiber? I have seen a few area lines using them.

the carbon fiber tubes are pretty much the same as the fiberglass version Pearl's. as said they are very adjustable. we have been using the Pearl's since 02 and not had a problem with them.

We have the Yamaha tubes (identical to the Pearls, minus the little sticker) and we have had tremendous problems with them. We keep things maintained very well and we are losing parts all over the place. The carriers are new this year, and I can promise we will never go back to a Randall May design.

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. If you take a Pearl high tension tuning key that comes with the drum, and tighten the harness joints until it hurts your fingers, then it will not move for at least twelve years. My school has had one for twelve years, and it has not budged since. So I am told by my director who has been here for twenty years. Also, I believe it is worth the trouble to fix your harness up to fit you perfectly, because in the end, it will help your back. Pearl harnesses are the most comfortable ones I have used (I have also used Dynasty and Yamaha). If it is in your price range, buy the Pearl mag tube carriers. I also have a pretty sick harness tan from mine.
