Make some? Wow thats a first for me. I would just go and buy some cuz making sticks/mallets would be too hard for me to get just the right weight and size. Not to mention trying to match the sounds. Sheesh, i get a headache just thinking about it.

get a tree branch, and start widdling away, then go to a glass blowing factory and have them create a 1.5 inch disk of glass, buy some epoxy, and glue the sucker on there. you've got yourself one manly tenor stick.

no , but really, it'd be fun to make some tenor mallets, just to be crafty (insert beastie boys reference here), but if you cant come up with your own way of making them, then I wouldnt even bother. It definitely wont be cheaper than buying a new pair of sticks, but it may occupy your time and i'm sure you could build your motor skills a bit...

Brass Monkey?

I wouldn't recommend doing this, honestly. With the time you take to get these two mallets prepared and balanced, you could be paradiddle-diddling sextuplets at 200.

my dad is really into wood working so we have a lathe(or how ever you spell it).its a machine that spins a peice of wood and u work the wood into the shape u need.baseball bat and stick companies use these.so i made my own tenor mallets out of some wooden rods that i skeeft from my dad. the tips and the neck were modled from a little mini baseball bat that was in my room. i have to say they were pretty sweet the only problem is getting the weight even.but the good part is u can customize your sticks the way you want.
