DId anybody here That Vic Firth is cancelling their Jim Casella Signatures. Evidently Innovative Percussion fully sponsers him now. The stick is scheduled for 2004 for i heard. I hope IP does a good job on them. I personally liked what Vic Firth did with them. It was a good stick. Just a heads up for all those who where wondering.

I'm big fan of IP's Casella Series mallets, so I'd imagine they'll do a fine job with the new stick. How similar will it be to the Vic Firth stick?

This is good. My drumline plays with IP's especially the Jim Casella series marimba mallets. I like it this way since its only one brand with his name on sticks.

I dont know how different they will be. I just read about this on another message board and though it was interesting.

that might explain why Santa Clara was using Hardimon sticks this year instead of Casellas. Based on this news, I would venture a guess and say that SCV will become an all Innovative Percussion sponsored corps starting in 2004.

Looks like I need to keep my pair of VF Casellas for a collector's item....hopefully, the new ones will be as good as the old ones, because I loved those things.

i'm wondering if IP will make a tom mallet like the MT4A, the whole reason for the MT4A was because SCV like the Gambal version and used it for years until VF decide to make one. its really weird i know both IP and VF were on Casella and SCV to pick a stick company to endorse, i would have guessed VF but this could be interesting.

I like VF, even with the inconsistancies, but i'm glad someone else is getting deeper in the market.
