this year my pit had 14 people in it, and only 4 of them were returning members. Needless to say, most of them weren't very good. But then again, any pit with 10 freshmen who don't give respect is never a good thing...

I think the pit had about 8 people (1 was in 8th grade), and one trumpet player who played sometimes because he was epileptic and couldn't always march.

Hmmmm 11 this year, no battery. I love playing in the pit but I missed my snare too much.

The pit is an important element to the marching band. I would say a good pit size is about seven. Four mallet players and three auxillary percussion players. The players must practice until the music is memorized, and all students should give one another and the instructor respect. Without respect, there is no band.

Our pit has about 15 people. It had a lot more last year, though.

In our pit we have 4 and we'll go up next year to 7 or 8. In our school the pit is important to our score they add a lot of sound.
