If you've read a hand full of my posts on this site, you'd pretty much know that the drumline at UM gets in trouble on a regular basis. I don’t think there was a single rehearsal this season a member of the drumline or the drumline as a whole didn’t get yelled at for something. Now we don’t go looking for trouble, it seems to be at our heels all day long. We usually take things a step to far. Insulting the visitor band by playing Green Acres. Throwing a party, and 150 people get alcohol citations. Not knowing the music for the drum solo the practice before the game (it hadn’t been written yet). Playing rock and roll part II when where killing the other team (we’re only allowed to play it once and half, and only if we take the lead by 7 points). And about a million other reasons the director can think of. I hope my line isn’t the only one out there that gets in trouble all the time.

Miami Univesity (Ohio), didn't they get into trouble on a bus ride because of alcohol and kekkidness?
i think it's pretty much a standard, at least as far as high school and college, for the drumline to cause all the trouble it possible can.
dropping drums and random items from a catwalk in the auditorium, taking construction signs, relieving ourselves in our buddy's cooler at camp, taking all the tires off the band directors car, getting in fist fights with the opposing band, and sometimes with one another.

of course....i never supported or took part in any of that ;-)

Heh heh heh...At football games, the bass drums will start playing that song...Well, when we start, the cheerleaders have this dance they do for it...So, we intentionally cut, the band never comes in or anything, just right in the middle of it, and the cheerleaders are just kinda like..."Huh? Why did they stop?" While half of them are still dancing, looking like idiots...Of course, since we got a new driector, we only did this once, what a party pooper.

Anyways, our line never really gets in trouble. I think the biggest thing was...Well, I wasn't at practice this day, so this is what I hear...Every practice, we stretch, then basics, then all the sections go somewhere and warm up for about 10 minutes...Well, supposedly, the drumline put their drums down, and our section leader was giving a speech, since it was the week before finals...Well, the band director came over and yelled at them for not warming up, and told them to take a lap...So from what I hear, they started running, and about halfway through the lap, he stopped them and said something like they weren't listening, and they were supposed to take a lap with their drums on, so he made them finish that lap and then take another lap with drums on...And this was after they had to run like 2 raps because a lot of people were late to practice...Man, I sure can pick the days to get sick...Other than that, we have really never gotten in trouble.

nope, never. our line talks so much, and the bds just leave the line alone. i dont think theyve ever actually yelled at us.

ah danny, watch yourself... calling the new director a party pooper. you know how well that will go over at southmoreland. in fact, you better format your hard drive and hide in a hole for a while. you prob. just started world war 3.

If it was my line who did that then I don't think there would be a line at my school. My instructor gets really mad if we get in trouble. If we even touch alcohol and he knows about it then you are off the line no matter if you are the section leader. We have been in trouble before and my band director did not like it.
