Hey,
In my next concert, I have a snare solo. Its based on three different solos: Train Wreck by Nick Angelis, Tribute by Jeff Queen, and Rodent Tomfoolery by Tyler Dempsey. The solo is to show how percussion can visually enhance music as well as audibly. So it features lots of tricks. The tricks i'm doin so far is: 1) Hold sticks on opposing sides of drum and then switch hands so i'm in traditional, 2)Juggling paradiddles 3) three way backsticking 4)Stick flips 5)The lay the stick on rim, hit it trick 6) switch from traditional to double traditional to matched 7) scoop unders 8)behind the back walk the dog 9)rolling the stick down my arm while playing eighth with it 10)the walk the dog on the nose trick by nick angelis 11) stick drop and catches 12)backsticking 13)walk the dog 14) walk the dog (while playing on different ends of the stick) and thats it. What other off the wall tricks can I do to blow the audience away. I really wanna impress the high school drumline section leader. Please give the best you got, make it as crazy as you want, i'll learn it. Thanks!

i was going to suggest the claw as well.

I would suggest downloading Mickey Burmer's PASIC snare solo from this year...there are a few tricks in it that you didnt mention in your list. It can be found at www.drumhard.com under the media section.

Oh, and the Nick Angelis nose trick you mentioned....he is actually using his tongue to balance the stick not his nose.

there is a thread on the forum about what the claw is and how to perform it. Use the search feature and you shall get your information. If it still doesnt make sense then go to www.drumlineparkinglot.net under the DCI archive section, then go to I&E, and download a Pat Fitz-gibbons solo....he performs it in his solo.
