Dang I called them and they said it'd be another few weeks so I called the crown store and got to talk to bill bachman !!!! But anyway, quadropads were $125 with laminates! I thought it was $80.. oh well, but that is a lot for a pad

I was just down at Columbus Percussion a week ago. It seems they went to a convention and picked up a bunch of Heavy Hitter stuff. However, ALL of their quadropads were 8-10-12-13 sized and they said they had to order more to get normal sized ones...Oh yeah, the new Vic Firth-made models have "Glue-On Spocks" now. You can pick whether you want quints or sixes and where the drum is positioned by peeling and sticking your spock(s).

When are the Pads going to be available through vic firth (or at least stocked by them)? One of the lines im in is sponsered by Vic Firth, and we get a 66% discount on all their products.. I dont think it applies to stuff carried by their distributors though. Does anyone know? Id really like a quaddropad for the capital regiment camp.

I emailed HHP about the price increases:

Bill or Romo,
Can you guys give any information as to why the prices of the HHP pads jumped so much since VF took over production? While I understand that VF wants to make a larger profit on them, I've been getting quotes with price increases of over 50%, not to mention that the laminates are no longer included like they used to be.

Keeping licensing and non-disclosure issues in mind, any info that you could share would be welcomed.

The materials used to make the quadropads are of a
much better quality all around from wood (being the
most expensive change) to adhesives to rubber to
stamping. Every thing about the quadropads is 10
times better, including the change to the corners.
The laminates have a MUCH longer life span, and snugglebunny
of people never wanted the laminates for their
quadropads (dont ask me why not, they make the pad
feel the best) So now they are an option.

The snare pads are only $2-$4 more than what they
originally were, and they are also better materials
(although far less parts/cuts than a quadpad). (AND
THEY ARE ALL CHEAPER THAN ANY OTHER PAD ON THE MARKET
OF THEIR SIZE.) So almost no change in prices there
from what I have seen.

Hope that helps!

Romo

I own the slimpad. Its got a great kevlar feel to it. Easy to lug around. Just is loud for a practice pad. Which can be good in public places, but can be a bit much when your rocking out at home. No complaints on my purchase though. $27.99
