If you can't find anybody that sells them, you could always paint them. I not kidding, I know someone that did. It was for his set, and he painted he cymbals black and red. They don't really look that cool, but it was kind of a good idea. After a couple of days of playing they look really bad, so I personally wouldn't do it. I would just stick with the original color.

Honestly for marching cymbals I doubt there are multi-colored cymbals. And painting them is an amazingly awful idea. The paint would get in the there grooves of a cymbal then you would lose noise and vibration from the edges. Plus you would have to say goodbye to zings and soft taps for the grooves would now produce NO NOISE. But if you hate your school that much and want to waste cymbals feel free, and while you are at it why not just drink some of that paint. ***DO NOT PAINT YOUR CYMBALS*** They do have cymbals that are different colors some company put of like a red/blue and green among other colors, but doubt that it is still a production cymbal. Zildjian also used to have a darker color cymbal, it has just not been lathed yet. And essentially every cymbal could be dark, if they skip the last couple steps of the making of the cymbal. But when it comes to marching It dark color would dissapate by the times the reached the stands and would look useless. ------------- Jake Ansley Purewhiterock@hotmail.comAIM: Ansleyz28

Yeah the guy I knew bought these really cheap horrible cymbals and played with them. I never said they sounded good when he painted them. He actually let me paint one of them and it was very fun. I always like going and buying really chead crappy sets and putting crap all over them. One time me and this one kid bought a pawn shop set and covered it with stickers and painted on it different things. It was a pretty cool looking set, but it sounded like crap.

Paiste used to make the different colored cymbals back in the 80's. They were called color sounds. Some corps marched with them. I actually had a red one in my drumset, but the coloring chipped off.
Never paint your cymbals. Yikes.

Ok I will take an oath right now, not to ever paint another cymbal. Even if my friend wants to. I will for now on paint only on my hardware. Just kidding!! One time one of our snare drummers painted his sticks blue, and they bleed off on him. It was pretty funny. He had blue hands for like 3 days untill it finally came off.
My advise is "Don't paint your hands blue!"

So you mean to tell me that none of you have never thought of painting you cymbals or sets. I got it from my friend that likes to "pimp" out his sets. Most people would call it "ruin" his sets, but they look pretty cool. It was pretty funny he made this set that was dedicated to all of the rap stars out there. He put all of this fake gold on it. There were these little fake gold rims on the bass drums, with little quarters glued to all of the toms. He gets a lot of his sets from the pawn shop that sell sets for like $120. After he beats the crap out of them, he just trashes them. He is a great influence isn't he?

Yeah everyone should do it. I would do it on my main set, but I would buy a crappy set and pimp it out. I love my real set too much to mess it up. I bought this one set from a freind and that is the one that I pimp out.

also, ziljian released a "titanium" coated/lathed cymbal now. they're a bright silver finish and the logos are actually etched into the cymbal which show the underlayer alloy.
but, i believe they're only for set cymbals. other than that, yea, paiste had colored cymbals, but i wouldnt worry about cymbal colors. if you're comparing drumhead colors to a cymbal alternate, instead of the actuall cymbal color, i'd find a cymbal pad and strap color.. i'm sure they sell those in colors SOMEWHERE>..if not, i'm sure you could bleach and dye if you wanted.

You know what matters most. Playing well. If you notice, the best drumlines don't worry about colored drumheads or sticks or cymbals. They just play great. Impress them with your ability.

jkozol, always the instructor eh? thats very true. is all about playing well and good sound quality, but hey, people like to have fun with their equipment, and that doesnt neccesarily keep them from playing well either.

Paiste used to make them. They were called colorsounds. I think I mentioned this previously.
