I didn't see this posted here yet, so here is another.

Quote:
Eric Sabach will be stepping down as Corps Director/Director of Youth Programs for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. While at the Blue Stars, Eric was a key part of the team that returned the corps to the Drum Corps International Finals for the first time in 29 years.

Through his role, Eric was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the corps and the well being of its members, volunteers and staff. He was also instrumental in creating new fundraising events and marketing programs that were financially beneficial to the Blue Stars.

"Eric came to the Blue Stars just before the first audition camp last season and quickly impressed me with his leadership, organizational skills and professionalism," said Brad Furlano, Executive Director of the Blue Stars. "While his time with the corps was short, his impact was great. We wish him much success in his future endeavors, and will certainly miss him at the Blue Stars."

"I am happy for the opportunity to help the Blue Stars organization achieve the goals it established 5 years ago,” said Sabach. “I am satisfied that I am leaving the organization with a stronger foundation than before. At this point in my life, my priorities are shifting and the need to be able to spend more time with family and friends in a more traditional work environment is gaining importance. I am thankful to Brad Furlano, Donnie VanDoren, and the Board of Directors for allowing me the opportunity to positively impact such a history-rich organization.”

Eric’s plans are to enjoy some extended time with family and then pursue other business ventures he has interest in or return to a highly successful corporate career in sales and marketing. Eric has been involved with drum corps for more than 35 years, and he expects to be participating in the activity on some level.

The Blue Stars organization has a plan in place for the future and will be announcing it next week. Auditions for the 2009 season will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, IN over Thanksgiving weekend. Audition and winter camp information will be available in the near future at www.bluestars.org.

It may not be as significant as Aungst & Larivee leaving the cadets, SCV's director leaving, Saucedo leaving Cavies or McIntosh leaving 'Coats, but I consider it significant since under his direction Blue Stars made it to World class finals, an accomplishment that should not be overlooked whatsoever.

I think its about time we have an "Offseason Corps Staff Tracker" thread to put all this information in one thread and track who replaces each person.

He's already been replaced by Howard Weinstein of Boston Crusader fame.

All of these resignations seem a bit much. Is this normal after a season for this many staff to resign?

I'm pretty sure it's not. But I'm just an Amateur DCI Fan, I wouldn't know, but it does seem like the resignation level is set on high this off-season.

This number of changes? Sure. These particular positions? Not that I've seen before.
