So, KEEPING IT CIVIL, what does everyone think of the dem ticket?

Personally, I think it was a good choice. It opens up Pennsylvania, Obama can now show he has a great foreign relations advisor, and Biden will be great in the VP debates.

Also, who does McCain now pick?

I think if he doesn't pick Romney, he's out of his mind. He needs those great lake states to have a chance in November.

Ok...go

I'm not sure Biden "wins it" for Obama but it's a logical and safe selection. Adding Biden to the ticket brings a great deal of experience in foreign policy, drug policy, and judiciary issues to the table. I haven't always agreed with Biden's voting record but he's a great proponent of civil liberties and human rights so I can live with the pick.

Well, look for many soundbites of Biden slamming Obama from the McCain camp.

Also, Biden is pro RIAA and pro "monitored and pay-to-play" internet access, so it will be interesting to see what musicians think.

Have you ever downloaded a song illegally? Or a piece of sheet music? Biden supports arresting you for that.

uh oh, I just noticed something when looking at this topic...

Obama Biden
Osama Binladen

I really hope that people don't try and use something trivial like this to sway some votes.

Minor issues.

Would you rather have Biden for those reasons, or McCain putting more constructionist judges on SCOTUS?

Someone most definitely will.

But I think that will play into Obama's "four more" strategy. The current admin has used irrational fear based initiatives to spur their policies, and this would be a very similar attack.

HAH!

Like Jared said, thats a minor issue. Besides, the role of the VP isn't really to push policy around. They vote for tie-breaking in the senate and oversee senate hearings. Sure, he may be a person of influence, but I do not believe for a second that any of his personal thoughts on the matter would become federal law.

The music downloading issue is such small potatoes anyways.

I have no problem with actually buying music instead of illegally downloading it. Sorry if that is just me. It doesn't surprise me that he chose Biden. My AP History teacher was mad though because of the fact that he signed up to get a text message from the Obama people when his VP was announced. He never got it. Sorta funny.
