Hmmm....what now? Who comes up and takes the position? Will SCV under-go big changes? This article leads to some interesting questions.....

The organization has a strong board and management team. They'll be fine.

(I wonder how long it'll take for Jeff Fiedler rumors to start circulating.)

Not long. My bro was just talking about that. But yeah, can't wait to see where SCV goes with this one.

just to let you guys know, being a drummer, he meant to hit the rims, it's part of the effect. It changes it up a bit.

The first thing I thought when I read this yesterday was Fiedler, but I restrained myself from typing it on here. smile

Also, on the DCI is always changing and this type of stuff happens every year, Phantom's guard caption head will not be returning. It is just the nature of the activity.

Last paragraph will answer the obvious question on everyone's mind. The real question will be how long the interim will last.

Seems like they've had 15 directors since Royer left.

Royer retired in 1992. He passed away after that.

I think Bill's right. Royer retired after the '92 season and then passed in '93. I'm sure his retirement was due to the cancer though. Needless to say, he retired and then passed.

Just throwing this out there... Fielder is already on admin staff with SCV as the CEO, so i don't think it'd be that far fetched to believe that hes been in the discussion.

Maybe he spoke to him after stepping down as the cavs director. and those reasons remain the same now. perhaps he wanted to remain part of a drum corps, but could not commit to the schedual of a full time director.

Would it surprise you if he did take the job?

yeah, it would a little, but it's not a far-fetched idea.
however, i've already heard that they've picked who they want and it's not him. unless my info is wrong...

fiedler wants to be more of a "behind the scenes" type guy now...which doesnt really fit the description of a corps director
