Honestly, I don't think there will ever be a pad that feels like a kevlar head. It's just not the same, no matter what you do, its rubber vs. thread, You just can't replicate kevlar 100%. Now the slimpad is pretty noisy, and to me it dosn't feel like its a kevlar head, but it gives a more minor case of pad hands then a real-feel, thats for sure. Not that its a big deal, but it only takes me about 5 minutes to adjust, compared to the 20 or so it took after I drummed on a real-feel for a year.

I would say all you need is a real-feel and some time to adjust before you go back to the drum, but it's your call. If your looking for durability and silence, The real-feel is more up your alley. If your looking for a tighter feel (although not all the way there) then you might want to look into the slimpad.

just to let you guys know, being a drummer, he meant to hit the rims, it's part of the effect. It changes it up a bit.

why not just take an old kevlar head and put it over the drum pad laugh , athough that probley wouldent work, I use a stock pad but I havent been playing on my snare long enough to notice the difference.
