I think that particular apology is being issued more in regards to another issue people had with retreat; not so much the music. Of course, they're being vague in the apology, so we can't really be sure.

Everyone was just talking about how its a big tradition to screw off at the finals retreat?

Apparently, the kids who did not age out of Bluecoats this season were actually not invited to return next season. For anyone who doesn't know the list of grievances is as follows:

1.)Members were completely hammered drunk.
2.)They were throwing candy at members of other corps.
3.)One of the members (a friend of mine actually) drilled a hole in his bass head with a power drill.
4.)They were playing on other corps drums as they walked by on the way to retreat.

Er, are you positive? That sounds like a lot of people, the ones who didn't age out. Where did you hear that?

This is just getting ridiculous. It was a bunch of kids having fun after a long summer tour. Definitely not worth getting anyone's knickers in a twist over. And DEFINITELY not worth banning people from returning to a corps over.

I doubt that, How could you do a show completely hammered + where do you get said alchohol? And who would drill a hole in their bass head?

I doubt they would tell everyone not aging (Sp?) out to screw off and not return, Or else next year the blue coats are probably going to be shot.

Wrong. It's a serious event that had a rather large audience. Every corps I've seen the inner workings of has strict rules about behaviour in uniform that carry hefty penalties. And ruining the final time on the field for not only the audience, but age-outs and others who want to enjoy the moment is just wrong.

I can see how you might think that if you hadn't marched or participated in retreat, but it definitely is.

Depending on the breach(es) of conduct in question, yes, it very well could be.

I was not there, so I don't know if it was actually the case, and will not comment as to whether I believe it. However, I can assure you it's more than possible to get liquor on tour (I didn't personally, but it's like anywhere else, if you want it enough, it's possible to find it).

I know it's possible, Don't they do walmart trips and other things all the time? Especially if you have kids who are 21 years old, liquor can get around there. But, I can't imagine anyone being drunk and playing the show, so that leaves, when do they have time to drink it? I'm clueless as to what they do from the time they finish their show to the time they come back to scores, But I would imagine they would be watched, and they would'nt have enough time to get hammered.

Please fill me in though, Thats always been something that makes me wonder, where do the corps go after they go on?

They go wherever they want to go. This isn't high school and they don't have chaperones watching their every step. Once you finish your show and are dismissed, you're free to do pretty much anything. Most people go back to the stadium to watch the rest of the corps or chill by the trucks.
