Hardest Sport in Olympics?

Since there seems to be lots of talk going on about the Olympics, I thought I would ask, what do you think is the hardest sport in the Olympics? Since I read an article on this sport, it's been my opinion that Water Polo is the hardest. They interviewed some guy from the U.S. team. He said that a lot of people think the pool is 4 feet deep. But it's not, it's 10-14 usually, and you have to tread for more then an hour, while swimming around and passing a ball. Add some opponents waving their hands like crazy in front of your face, and kicking your legs under water too. I think that's counts as hard.
So what are some other opinions?

Hmmm....I guess that's pretty hard. But Water Polo has one thing Ice Hockey doesn't. A solid ground to put your feet on. Other then that, though, Ice Hockey is up there in the hardest sports.

I would have to go with the decathalon. Those guys are nuts. Unlike hockey or water polo, both of which require great stamina, the decathalon requires mastering so many different areas. This is the only sport that I know of that takes two days to complete (except cricket).
Events are 100 meters, 400 meters, 400 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1500 meters. In addition, the one who wins gold in this event is labeled World's Greatest Athlete.

^----. The Decathlon. End of thread. Another one to consider is the kayaking time trials (whatever its called). Seeing people in kayaks go upstream to go through a gate requires ridiculous precision, strength and skill. Theres a lot of variables to factor into that. I by no way think this is harder than the decathlon, but is definitely one event to be considered tough. Of course, if any of this were "easy", we'd all be olympians .

Wow, starting this thread has re-introduced me to a lot of sports I forgot about in the Summer Olympics. Kayaking is something I need to see. I don't think I've ever seen that before...

i would say javelin and hammer throw. if you count the weight of those men and women, and the weight of the hammer and javelin, it has to be the heaviest sport.. just kidding

hardest, no id..... LOL! And Flamtap, I'm right with you. It's like, "Car Crashing is a sport in the Olympics? Wait, what about the winning country of the Computer Repair event?" And bassgirl, I'm not sure, but either way, that's not what the thread is about, is it?
