And he should know cause.....He used to play and teach at the University of Kentucky!!!!

Oh yeah another I forgot to put in my long post, is that my knuckles look like a butt in that picture...haha...but as you can see from it, you can see that my hands look kind of straight from the picture, but they are curved, just the quality of the pic is shady, that's all.

Let me take a pic of my grip again from a different angle, Mr. Morgan... (Dont mind my jutting pinky there, my cat clawed my shoulder as I took the pic)

See if this is better:

Much better. Try to relax that middle finger just a bit. And keep the stick up further on your ring finger.

picky picky picky... <img src="/threads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well I've learnt a little different than all of you.
I've gotten most of my tips from a Spirit player, and I've checked out some UGA and Auburn styles too. I'll post a pic as soon as my camera decides to work again.

Here is my left hand in traditional grip.

The object is to hold your sticks tight so that when you are playing, accents have more power and you control your sticks better.

The stick shoul rest on the last knucle or foreward on your third finger.
Move your pointer finger out. The thumb should pinch the first joint.
Along with that curl your ring finger out too.
Your hand looks kind of tense but maybe it's just because you took the picture at a weird angle...

aaronizzle, sorry dude, but that could be one of the worst left hand techniques I've seen.

You really need to get some good advice on playing trad. style, and you should fire your drum teacher....
