Have you ever been padding it out and hit spots in the pad that make a clicking noise almost like in the center of the pad the pad came un-glued.

It sounds like a clicking noise like on paper on my pad. I thought at first it was my sticks but after switching through several pair i still hear this weird noise in the center of my slim pad.

It got me thinking maybe its time for a new pad, so has anyone else had there pad wear out on them? and not because you throw it around like a frisbee

You might be able to peel the rubber and re-glue unless your pad is as thrashed as my brother's old one. After a decade or so of taking a hard beating, the particle board under the rubber started to fall apart.

never had that problem,I bought my real feel in 1999, still works great.(that includes 6 drum corps tours)....
I do know that when HH went from bill bachman's basement to california, they initially had some quality control issues, due to the rubber being differnt on the slim pad than other pads that company makes. I know that it has since been resolved.

I have an old Vic Firth pad, and on the harder side, there's a dead spot in the center. Not like it unglued, but it's caved in a little, so there's no bounce in that spot. It really bugs me.
