I tech the quads in this group which is also my alma mater. A bit hard to hear in the gym, but oh well.

My freshman year of college. I'm on the left of center on the quadline.

This summer obviously. I'm on the right end of the quads.

yeah i don't know about that. Div 1 corps fly through heads. One of my friends who was in spartans said they got the equivalent of a new set of heads each week. Most high schools don't have that kind of money to afford to crank heads that high and keep them there. Not to mention most high schools would end up breaking the heads just trying to tune them that high. Granted they do sound better high.

Try a full head change every two or 3 days.

Jofus, Was that you that went down at the toledo show? I guess something was wrong with the stage or something?

And man, changing drumheads every 3 days may make me miss tenors if I switch off, It'll be like christmas every 3 days xD. Got any idea how often snares and basses change?

just to let you guys know, being a drummer, he meant to hit the rims, it's part of the effect. It changes it up a bit.

yea that was me. The stage was almost four steps forward from where it should be. I had a direction change 2 steps in front of it... I'm surprised nobody said anything about it. You're the firstbone to ask me about it outside the corps.

Yea, I remember seeing that, then a snare tripped and took just about half the line with him, clogged up the bass movement that went behind the snare line too. A lot of things got screwed up by just that one small mistake. The best part was trying to watch the guard keep their cool, if I remember right they were looking trying not to give it away, but at the same time trying to figure out what was going on. Oh well, things happen, great recovery on your part, and by everyone else by the way.

You know anything about snare and bass head changes though?

Snares were pretty frequent with the top and bottoms. Bottoms were like every other day or every 3. Tops were like once or twice a week I believe.

I don't really remember how often the basses did. It wasn't too frequent because, they're basses.

Here's us at the Bandmasters Championship at University of Memphis. Our best run of the year. If we could've had a run like this last Saturday at state we might've won.

jofus, what is your opinion on how frequent a high school should rehead their drums. Our snares are white maxs that finished their second season, and our tenors are clear crimplock pinstripes that finsihed their first season...
