It's the old Blue Devils 60-second warmup.

The groovin' first segment is "Robbie Bucks". I believe Robb Sirat wrote it in 1985 and Steve Campbell named it after him.

Then three passes of Tom Float's old standard "Chugada": flam taps, sextuplets, and rolls. (As for the name, just sing the exercise: Chugada, chugada, chugga-chugga...) My personal favorite Chugada, the swisses (with left hand accent) aren't in your MP3.

Finally, "the tag". I don't remember exactly where it came from, but it was a Blue Devil staple in the early/mid 1980s. It was used in a couple of years' shows to end a tune.

"Chugada" was called Shopping Spree back then.

When I was in BDB (1990-92), I personally never heard it called anything but Chugada. (Not arguing... just sayin'.) By the time I was around, "Shopping Spree" had already acquired its usual meaning: a check pattern of four flam accents followed by flam drags, cheeses, flam fives, etc.

It may have changed names along the way. VK's line called it spree in 94 when Float was running the caption.

That's what I'd call it, but some things have more than one name depending on who you ask. Like Gabe pointed out, this might be one of those times.

And one other thing... I think you've got a couple of mistakes in your MP3. The R>L transition in Robbie Bucks doesn't feel quite right. You may want to double-check it against this. (It's a video of Ditty, but they lead off with Robbie Bucks.) The tag's not quite right, either. See the attachment.
