The list is endless:
"Shooting Star" where the sticks cross in one hand, then the hand crosses the sky above and in front of your head and you "watch" it by visibly turning your head.
"Spear" where you put both sticks in one hand, end to end, and make a stabbing motion with your "spear."
"Cutthroat" where you "slash" your throat with both sticks in one hand, and your head drops realistically as you "die."
Different arm motions... depending on the music, they could be sharp and aggressive, smooth and flowing, split/waves... anything, really.
The cutthroat visual is so hardcore. I wish I could find somewhere to put it in our show. But it's STYX, so I don't think it would fit anywhere really well. Oh well, it's a nice drum battle visual.
Another one that tenors could do (but it works better with snares in traditional grip) is like a FOB "cock it and pull it". Hold the sticks one on top of the other in your left hand, then use your right to "cock" the top stick, then pull them both up like a gun recoil.
Find a video of FOB playing "Sugar We're Going Down". The drummer usually does it at least once.
Another good one I saw in a video was the tenors using their sticks like a fork and knife and "eating" off the spock drum.
