Can somebody please help me out. . .
Does anyone know what the things are called that I have seen attached to various line's snares. They look like they are like 4 rectangular pieces of metal attached between two bolts. They make a pretty distinctive rattle sound.
The instructor at my old high school and I have been trying to find them online to order for our snare line but for the life us we can not find them. If someone could at least give me a name of what they are called or even maybe a link to a page to buy some that would be great.

ribbon crashers?

thats the only thing I can think of, from your description. If you get them treat them right away with rustoleum, they rust pretty much right out of the box.

Just watch Cavies' 06 show. They use ribbon crashers a ton in that show.

my snare line last year used them, they are called ribbon crashers. they do rust extremely quick. if you google my schools marching band "coral springs high" our show into a dream and about midway our snareline uses ribbon crashers as a cool effect.

http://marchingcolts.org/Repertoire.htm

if you go to the website and in a little bit our show will play and you will hear them. they do add a cool effect but without propper care they will become your worst nightmare.
