A real easy visual to do is simply rotating your wrist over in a 360-degree motion. It's hard to explain, but the stick should pass over your forearm in a clockwise manner, and your palm will face up. It's very fluid and can be done at many tempos. I think he means that your right hand goes clockwise, your left hand counter-clockwise. If you do that make sure the sticks stay fluid and horizontal to the ground. Or, you could do a 180 degree vertical rotation. If you hold the sticks thumb up, put your index finger on top of the stick and rotate it around the index finger. Hit every time you do that, and you will end up holding the sticks normally every 2nd time.
