If have noticed, all my cadences are coming from earlier things I wrote that I got from people like Neal Flum and Murrray Gusseck.
Influences in this are: Electric Wheelchair 2003, SCV 91-92, 02-03 (other years?) Double Beat 2004, SCV 2004 Kashe Varniskes, University of Alabama Cadence 2008
If you look at some of my earlier cadences that I posted, you will find several little things that keep coming up, and the only reason is, that I like it

"influence" is an interesting word. Another word would be "ripped." Seriously, measures 24-25 aren't influenced by electric wheelchair, they are electric wheelchair.
You said that influences for this cadence are DB 2004, EW, and U of A 2008. Ok, fine no problem. Did you rip any other parts directly like you did with the EW lick? I did not take the time to look and see, but if you took one lick...well, you get the idea. If so, then influence is not the proper term. Copying and pasting together would be a better term.
There are two reasons why this is a problem. The obvious one is copyright issues. Yeah, I know, you are a high school kid and there are bigger fish to fry in regards to copyright issues than you and you are just trying to improve your writing skills, but you are not "writing." That brings me to point number 2...the only way to improve your writing is to actually write something that is your own. Being influenced by something is fine, but it needs to be in the style of electric wheelchair (for example) not the actual part from EW.
I did not really mean for this to be a rant, but it has turned into that apparently.
One more thing about the cadence....stickings are good thing. Especially on tenor parts. Some of your tenor parts need clarification. If it was meant to be straight sticking most of the time, then the playability of some of the parts needs work. Some of drum to drum transitions are awkward.
final question....do you or have you ever played tenors?

Sorry drumholio, I can see your point but I disagree. When you think about it, cadences are nothing but a combination of hits on a drum. Anything could sound like something somebody else has written. Theirs really no way to tell. But then again, THIS was inspired by DoubleBeat2004. I didn't copy anything, but I just pretty much took the concept and formed my own groove.

Rebuttal time....
Darfin, you said yourself that you did not copy anything but you took the concept. That is the exact definition of inspired/influenced. That is what I was saying SHOULD be done.
However, jacketsnare copied measures 24 and 25 from electric wheelchair. All three parts are the SAME EXACT THING, and yes there is a way to tell, because all you have to do is get a copy of electric wheelchair and look for yourself. It is right there on paper.
There is no way you can spin it that cadences are nothing but a combination of hits on a drum. If that was the case, copyrights on music would be nonexistent, because you are using the same notes in every piece of music (A,B,C,D,E,F,G). In the drumming world, you are using the same rhytmic combinations in every piece. It is not the rhythms themselves, but the way they are grouped together that is what gets copyrighted.
One last thing....yes, anything could sound like something somebody else did, but sounding like it and being a direct copy of it are two completely different things.

why could it be copyright infringement (if that is the correct term), when it's 2 measures? it's not the whole thing that is copy and pasted. I don't think anybody would care is sombody ripped 2 measures.
it's not to be straight sticking... this is basically a rough draft, so I haven't put the stickings in yeat, and it has been edited since I posted it, like the EW part has been edited a bit.
And on your last question, I have never played tenors, I played percussion for 5 months last year, then switched back to trombone, I asked to get back on next year, he said no twice, so odds are I'm gonna quit the band. I have a Quadropad, so I know a lot more than when I didn't
