I was looking for drums on e-bay and I came across a seller who was a dealer for an outfit called back beat percussion. Does anyone know anything about them??????

Have you looked at the pictures of those drums? They're cheap third world knock-offs. I wouldn't recommend those drums even if they were free.

If you're looking for drums, you want something that's well-built and something you can get replacement parts for. For modern marching drums, stick to one of the following brands:

Pearl
Yamaha
Dynasty
Premier
Ludwig
Mapex (new on the scene)

...and of the above, be careful with Premier since finding replacement parts can be problematic.
