Seriously...that's what you're gonna go with?

*shakes head and sighs*

As for AD's mallets, I was checking out their website, and I saw they have some newer (I think) models, they appear to be modeled after the VF/PM models of bass mallets, so I'm thinking they might be worth a try if I can find a good price, I'm just unsure about their snare sticks. I don't know if I want to shell out for yet ANOTHER pair of sticks that might or might not be any good.

Its like the Premier marathon batter head...I have like 5 sitting in my basement. Very few people have these.

I saw two NOS (new old stock) Premier Marathon heads on eBay a few weeks ago and I'm still kicking myself for not buying 'em.

I had forgotten about AD's newer wood-shaft bass mallets.

All but the smallest look OK (I don't trust the squared-off head). Not any cheaper than "main stream" brands, though, and harder to find.

I'd like to know the logic behind the 5th Quarter mallet's chunky shaft, though I approve of the fulcrum notch -- should give a good grip even with sweaty hands.

It appears that Steve Weiss music is carrying the Gambal mallets.

just to let you guys know, being a drummer, he meant to hit the rims, it's part of the effect. It changes it up a bit.

You just won't know unless you've played them. They were incredibly comfortable and LOUD.

Honestly the Gambal mallets where possibly the best tenor mallets ever made. The vic firth Mt4 and I think MT2s are pretty much direct copies of Gambal stuff.

Exactly. Often imitated, never duplicated.

Now, to harass the man and make him get production going again, lol.
