I'll be there as a percussion performance major. Anyone else?

I play all orchestral percussion, plus tabla, steel drums, and lots of other fun stuff. I'll be a freshman percussion performance major at UNT next year.

I'll be a senior in high school next year, but I'm definitely interested in going to UNT. You might see me if you stick around for about 2 more years lol!

Good luck... and have fun. Play in as many of the "ethnic ensembles" as possible. They are what make UNT unique. For sure, do the African Ensemble, Steel Drum Band, and the Afro-Cuban stuff with Jose Aponte. If you're into it, you should check out the Indian Ensemble too. You will learn more about rhythms in one semester with Shrinivasan than you have in your whole life. It's crazy fun.

Good Luck,

And working with Paul Rennick himself has got to be one of the major upsides to going to UNT.Though the percussion program is so large, you would have to really make a impression to be noticed (as a freshman anyway), i would think.

I'll be a senior next year, and thats where I'd like to go.

Seeing as I live about 30 minutes from Denton a lot of the people who work with our drumline and pit during band camp come from there and one teaches our private lessons.
