Unless I'm interpreting your post wrong, most Japanese players play traditional grip, not Burton grip (although they look similar from a distance, they're quite different).

I actually would recommend buying Method of Movement instead of Simply 4. Simply 4 was the first four mallet book I bought and it didn't help me at all. Method of Movement is waaaay more comprehensive.
