There's two old threads on here about this already. This one and this one. First one talks about Beaver Creek too. It's probably to cut down on the amount of members or to have more of a drumset set up.

Very cool. I'd love to try those! Also, shows how creative a school can be when they've got too much money -- a *little* bone of contention in Ohio. :-) No, really...check out their web site http://www.beavercreek.k12.oh.us/bhs/bandweb/Good grief! I wish my high school could've done some of this stuff! Gah!!! I just looked at their 'fees' for band on that web site -- there's no frickin' way I could've been in their band! Totaled up, it's over $1000 a year for a freshman, $700+ for a returning memeber! I get the idea that Beavercreek ain't a poor district.

I'm assuming those are Dynasty wedges? Pretty creative way to have a balanced line, if you ask me. I wish we had the money to do stuff like that.

Me. I'm not buying it.. Having the snare on the drum 4 position just doesn't seem to lend it self to good snare technique.. I would much rather go the route of Star and mount a 10" snare in the spock position..we played with the TSS 6" spock snares.. but they have no projection.
Props for thinking outside of the box.

I was on the drumline this past season that just ended at Beavercreek High as a cymbal player and yes they are quints with a snare on them. We don't call them squints or snenors, just quints. Apparently we are the only band that uses that set up. In response to Panasonic, yes they are Dynasty wedges. I guess our director just likes the way that they are set up, I'm pretty sure he's been using them for a long while now.

Hey whats up? I'm in the Beavercreek marching band, and I play those things you call snenors. It's pretty different but yet it's totally awesome at the same time. I'm 5''2 and weigh about 97 pounds so...it's gets pretty intense for me. I think my all time favorite memory is comming off the feild at The Northmont band premire to these guys yelling " Snenors, Snenors, snenors..." good times...Whoever came up with that word gets my vote for being awesome! In responce to Drums11 our fees might look horrible but we have 2 huge fund raisers that go into our own band funds. Go Girls on Drumline!
