I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw this, but I remember seeing an indoor ensemble using marching equipment that was essentially wood or temple blocks mounted on racks.

I'm thinking of using a similar idea for a show I'm designing, and I was wondering if anyone has seen these before and knows how they were contstructed.

It would seem that a wooden "snare" would essentially be a hollow box, and that a set of wooden "tenors" would be similarly designed but different sizes and pitches. Would it be possible to construct basses like this?
