I took a regular stick holder from one of our snare drums and strapped it to my carrier, it actually works fairly well and doesn't look half bad either. The only bad thing is that you really can't do it with the plexi-glass vest carriers.

Crap, I meant fiber-glass, my bad. Though that would be a really cool carrier, but it might break kinda easily.

try some brackets(you know snap the mallets in them if youre swaping and then unclick the ones you want to use) my bass line uses them but ours are old so were getting new ones.

our caption actually made our mallet holders for like 5 bucks each with some 2x2's and metal clips and velcroed them to the drum

We use velcro on the two top lug attachments, and velcro on the accual mallets

Do the mallets fall out of that easily? It would seem like they do.

My school uses these things that have rim guards, then a bar running between those over the top of the drum with 4 slots for mallets. I'm not sure who makes them, but I'm pretty sure my caption head said they were pretty recently put on the market.

If they're the clips I'm thinking about, they hold pretty well and they're a lot more durable than the plastic clips you usually see nowadays. They do tend to chew up wooden bass mallets, though. (The metal ones were a pretty standard Do-It-Yourself in the early '90s.)

Sounds like Pearl's BMH100 mallet holder. Pearl introduced it recently, possibly in response to the Claw by XL Specialty, which has been out for a couple of years now.

Yeah, that's it. They're pretty nice.

the Yamaha mallet holders SUCK. well, they work ok, but the adhesive to stick them to the drums does not hold at ALL
