What do you mean by affordable? Bass mallet holders are not that expensive unless you go with the all-in-one rim protector and mallet holders. Yamaha mallet holders only run around $12 a piece.

There was already a thread on this just a heads up the mods will shut this down. Click on link below to goto that thread. There Toe posted a great source to mallet holders. You should check it out I bought some last February and they are still using them today. Bass Mallet Holders

It took a while to find the thread, but I knew there was a pretty good discussion about mallet holders in the past: http://www.drumlines.org/threads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/206240/an/0/page/1There are a couple of pretty good suggestions in that thread, including an $8.99 "utility holder organizer" that Toe found at The Container Store. {EDIT} I got pulled away from my computer for a few minutes while typing my response and BigLove beat me to the punch.

Why don't you just lay them horizontally across the metal hooks that connect your carrier to your drum?

In any sort of drill movement, they'll fall right off!

For the topic starter, i suggest you attatch your mallet holders by velcro so that you can take them off if you ever need to. We had em on our drums, and they were attatched by adhesive. We took em off because they looked ugly, and the process of cleaning the laminate of all the goo crap was a biggg pain.

so the adhesive is hard to remove? i got the holders and put them on this past weekend, but will the stickiness really affect the drum that much?
