Second place, w00t! haha. That is interesting though...I guess the community didn't put as much scoring weight into "playability"

You are probably right. The judges I am sure were more critical in all areas but playability and look were probably the main ones the judges differed from the general public.

There are plans in the very near future to make a thread containing all of the non-finalist cadences. If you do not want your cadence posted (pdf and mp3) then please pm and let me know, otherwise it will be posted for all to see.

As some of you have probably noticed by now, I have posted some of the cadences from the contest in the orginal music section of the sheet music forum. The rest will be coming soon (I fell asleep at my laptop doing it last night). Enjoy.

So, what did the winners get?

We had enough prizes to give away to first, second and third. Since the first place winner also won third place, it was decided to give the third place prize to fourth place.

Here's what the prizes were:

First place:

1 Evans 14" Hybrid batter head
1 Evans 14" Hybrid snare-side head
1 T-shirt of his choice from the DLO store ("Flam.")
1 pair Vic Firth Hardimon sticks
1 pair Vic Firth MS3 sticks
1 Vic Firth snare stick bag

Second place:

1 Drumlines.org T-Shirt
1 pair Vic Firth Hardimon sticks
1 pair Vic Firth Scott Johnson sticks
1 Vic Firth snare stick bag

Third place:
1 pair Innovative Percussion FS1 sticks
1 DLO "Vehicle Sticker"
1 "Flam." button

These prizes are just a way of us saying thank you for participating. You've earned it!

What are your thoughts about these prizes? Would you have participated if you knew you could get some cool swag? Discuss.

Wow. Is there going to be another one? I registered too late to participate in this one. I think it's a great concept though

What if the person who won didn't play snare?

Would the heads change from snare to tenors?
