I've come up with an idea for a new section. I don't care what it would be called, but it would be an area where drummers can ask about their health. Such topics would include wrist pain, back pain, loss of hearing, carpal tunnel, or any other drumming/health related issues.

As a percussionist who's had a number of injuries and ailments related to marching, I think this would be a good idea. I really think the drum corps world should really begin focusing on the health aspect of the sport a bit more. And not just in terms of being hurt or getting injured . . . but also the positive things. The athleticism involved, conditioning, nutrition, etc.

I really think a health section could really be expanded upon on this website.

It occured to me when I decided to post my own thread about said topic, and upon seeing others who had already done so. It is a very demanding activity, and remember kids... the important thing is your health.

I have a feeling this is going to turn into a section of horror stories and scars... now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. You can learn a lot from others mistakes. I vote for it.

That can be a sub section! I agree on this. We can advise people on what not to do as we experience it. I vote yes on prop-health section.

I think patience is a virtue, virtue is something that must be learned, and being "learned" is something we should all strive to achieve.

....it is being discussed
