Yes, my fine DLO friends, this is indeed taken from the Snare Playing forum. It seemed to be popular. And it's always nice to hear other person's opinions.
Hokay, so what are your absolute favorite tenor sticks and mallets. Of any and all brands.
My opinion...
*IP-
sticks: shortys
mallets: FT-1AH
*Vic-
sticks: vegas (duh!)
mallets: MT1A

I'm seeing a lot of the promark Mike Stevens sticks being chosen. I've never played marching promark sticks. They any good?

i vastly prefer promark over vic firth. the sticks just feel better, and they dont paint the crap out of them either
however the majority of them break after a week of playing
oh well, promark still kicks vic at set sticks

i enjoy vegas for everything.
=]
no mallets, i don't like them at all.
if anything i'll use sco jo's as well,
and our tenor line used scott johnson snare sticks last fall.
O__o
i agree with hiredgoonthug...
when it comes to set sticks, promark is better.
but when it comes to marching sticks, of course nothing but vic firth

I used IP's, they were overly heavy and broke pretty soon. MT1A's all the way...that and the MT"Puffies".

My favorite sticks would be from Vic Firth. I use MT-4A, Vegas, and Scojos; and they are all awesome.

my line uses IP so im more familiar with the stick choices from them.
so most definately from IP:
sticks: FS 1
mallets: FT-1AH

and i agree with someone above Promark has some kick but set sticks my only problem is they break fast
