heres the deal, i recently got 10 14" Pearl snare projectors on ebay for cheap (our boosters have a very small budget for us). our snares arent that strong (the sound that is ) on the field, so i figure these will help. we have 14" Yamaha sfz's, (we'll paint over the Pearl logo) and are having some trouble on getting these to work.
they came with 4 pieces of velcro, evenly spaced (about an inch or two from the edges), and another piece of velcro twice as big, mated to those pieces as well, hanging over the edge of the scoop, to velcro onto the pieces that are (soon to be) on the drum. well, when we did this, the pieces didnt line up with the space on the rim between the lugs. is this because pearls are 10lugs where as yamahas are 12? if so, would we be able to just put on 5 pieces of velcro instead of 4?
also, how exactly do they get fitted onto the drum? does the velcro go on the outside of the rim, and on the inside of the scoop, or vice versa? i think a closeup picture of someones Yamaha sfz with a scoop would be most appreciated here

thanks.
