Our BD doesn't allow it, but during the winter season when we're just working with our techs, it's often allowed. You can bet that if it became a distraction though, we would have been wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants until we learned our lesson.

Ok, One day at band camp it was really hot and sunny so i took a sip from my friends gatorade and he didnt want my lips on it so i pored it in my mouth and i missed and got red gatorade all over my shirt. So i was like ok, so i took it of and put it under my harness. 10 minutes later my BD walked over to check on the drumline and he freaked out on me! HE started screaming " Boy put your shirt back on this isnt the swimming pool" he was pisssed. So has anyone ever had this probblem before i mean i See other highschools, corps, Wgi, etc.. do it all the time!?

I'm not sure it really gets THAT hot during practice. I managed to go through all of high-school, going to every band-camp and every after-school practice without taking any clothing off...To be honest, I'm not sure if you can compare a high-school band practice with DCI anyway, even around here where during marching season the temp is somewhere close to 100 and the humidity not far off practices don't last an unreasonable amount of time...and as to football reference, I would think the main reasoning behind that is the lack of members of the opposite sex on the football squad.

Alright, I don't understand the logic... I'm much cooler in a shirt soaked with sweat rather than the sun beating down on my bare back. Why is a t-shirt in hot weather so unbearable? Wear white.
well in my opinion, no shirt at all is better than a shirt heavy from being soaked in sweat during the humid hundred degree days of the florida summer. During band camp, we reherse from 8am-8pm, stopping only for lunch and dinner. The drumline is sent outside for the full 12 hours while the band and guard are in the band room and gym respectively, and we didnt have the option of taking off our shirts cause of our BD. After about 5 hours, I would be ready to rip the thing off, i would be wearing a plain white t-shirt too.
