Some of the fastest and most consistent I have heard, specifically the accel part at 3:50 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_MrRuhU4M4

It's too bad he folded on the gimmicky stuff in the middle.

Ever since I saw that solo I've been a big Noel Alvarez fan. The guy is an incredible player and I was so happy to find out he filled a spot in Phantom's snare last year right before tour. I know he's been wanting to march BD but I haven't heard if he made the line or not. If I had to speculate I'd say he made it if he was able to find the cash to make the flights out to Concord in the winter.

he's on the RudimentalDrumming fora, he's a very insightful guy, hell of a player too. Someone on that site said he made BD, can't verify it though. Had he not goofed up a couple parts in the solo, I think he would've easily won, he had some extra nice dynamic contrast, especially in the flam stuff

haha, I didn't know that he filled in a spot on the phantom line... that means that I know the guy who he replaced >_<

Or at least know of him.
